Psychotherapy.

Individual therapy involves an initial intake evaluation with discussion of treatment goals followed generally by weekly therapy sessions. Prior to scheduling an intake, you will be offered the opportunity to have a free phone consultation to determine the fit between you and your clinician. During the first few sessions, you and your clinician will be getting to know one another and building your relationship. Therapy can be helpful for anyone who wants to further enhance their life and for individuals experiencing difficulties with depression, mood, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, identity development, disordered eating, etc. It can be a space where you can talk about anything you want with the confidence that you are not being judged. This includes any cultural concerns and social justice issues, which impact our everyday lives.

Note that therapy is currently being conducted via a HIPAA compliant virtual platform.

Evaluations.

Evaluations are a multi-step process that includes an initial intake, testing, and the feedback to review results. The initial intake involves gathering information on your history and why you are seeking the evaluation. The tests administered depends on your reasons for the evaluation. We conduct both psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. Once results have been integrated and the report is complete (approximately 2-4 weeks from completion of testing), you will be invited for a feedback session to provide you with detailed information on test results, diagnoses (if present), and recommendations. The feedback also provides you an opportunity to ask questions to ensure that you fully understand the test results.

Psychological.

This type of evaluation is done when there are no academic concerns (e.g., reading, writing, mathematics). It can be used to assess for attention concerns and/or determine how other mental health concerns impact your cognition.

Psychoeducational.

This type of evaluation is done when there are academic concerns in one or more of the following areas: reading, writing, mathematics. Similar to psychological testing, it can also be used to assess for attention concerns and the impact of other mental health concerns. Psychoeducational evaluations are typically necessary when seeking accommodations for standardized testing and/or learning.
